Restore the depth of your paint
Three levels of machine polishing, from a single enhancement polish to a full two-step correction
Paint correction is more than a polish. At Stewart's Auto Care, it is a skilled, measured process that removes the swirls, oxidation, water spots and light scratches that build up on an unprotected finish. We measure the paint, understand how much clear coat we are working with and adjust the compound, pad and machine speed to each panel, because a steel hood and a plastic bumper behave very differently under a polisher. The result is a finish with real depth, a mirror-like reflection and color that looks rich again.
Not every car needs the same amount of work. A lightly worn daily driver may only need an enhancement polish, while neglected or darker paint may call for a two-step correction that removes the deepest defects before refining the gloss. We assess your paint first, recommend the right level and quote the job on the car itself. Paint correction is also the ideal preparation before a ceramic coating, so the protection goes on over a flawless surface.
Top five reasons to correct your paint
Paint correction does more than make your car shine. It removes the damage, restores the finish and prepares the paint for lasting protection.
Swirls and Scratches Removed
Years of automatic washes and careless cleaning leave a web of fine scratches in the clear coat. Machine polishing levels them away, so the paint is smooth and clear rather than hazy under the light.
Depth of Color Restored
Oxidation and surface defects scatter light and wash out the color. Once they are removed, the paint regains its depth and holds a sharp, mirror-like reflection.
Clear Coat Preserved
Correction is only worth doing if it is done safely. We measure the paint and remove only what is needed, so your clear coat keeps its integrity and the finish lasts.
The Right Base for Ceramic Coating
A coating locks in whatever is beneath it, including swirls. Correcting the paint first means the ceramic coating goes on over a flawless surface and looks its best for years.
Higher Resale Value
Paint that holds a deep, defect-free reflection tells a buyer the car has been cared for. It is one of the strongest first impressions a vehicle can make.
Three levels of correction

Three levels of machine polishing, each finished to the same meticulous standard. Choose based on the condition of your paint and the result you want.
Paint Enhancement Polish
A single polish that restores gloss to lightly worn paint.
This is a professional enhancement polish for paint that is in good condition but has lost its edge. Machine polishing with premium compounds removes light swirls, oxidation and fine surface imperfections, restoring rich gloss and clarity without the intensity of a multi-step correction. Paired with an exterior detail.
- Machine Polishing With Premium Compounds
- Remove Light Swirls and Oxidation
- Remove Fine Surface Imperfections
- Restore Gloss, Clarity and Reflection
- Paired With an Exterior Detail
1 Step Paint Correction
A noticeable transformation in a single polishing stage.
This is a single-stage correction that significantly improves the clarity, gloss and overall appearance of your paint. Professional-grade compounds, polishers and pads remove 60 to 75% of light to moderate swirl marks, oxidation, water spots and minor imperfections while preserving the clear coat. It works as a standalone service or as preparation before wax, sealant or ceramic coating, and it suits daily drivers and newer vehicles. Paired with an exterior detail.
- Single-Stage Machine Correction
- Remove 60 to 75% of Light to Moderate Defects
- Remove Swirl Marks, Oxidation and Water Spots
- Preserve Clear Coat Integrity
- Enhanced Gloss, Clarity and Color Richness
- Paired With an Exterior Detail
2 Step Paint Correction
Our most complete correction, for near showroom-quality results.
This is our most thorough correction, built to dramatically restore paint with moderate to heavy swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and defects. The first stage compounds away deeper imperfections such as heavy swirls, etching and light scratches. The second stage polishes out any haze and brings up a deep, high-gloss finish with exceptional clarity. Results typically reach 80 to 95% defect removal. It is the right choice for neglected paint, darker colors and enthusiast vehicles, and it is strongly recommended before a ceramic coating.
- Stage One: Compounding to Remove Heavy Swirls, Etching and Light Scratches
- Stage Two: Refining Polish for a Deep, High-Gloss Finish
- 80 to 95% Defect Removal
- Safe Clear Coat Levels Maintained
- Smooth, Refined Finish Under All Lighting
- Recommended Before Ceramic Coating
Our process
Four steps to a flawless finish
Paint correction is a sequence, and each step protects the one before it. Here is how your car moves through our hands.
Wash and Decontaminate
The car is washed from the wheels up and the paint is decontaminated to remove the embedded iron and grime that would otherwise be dragged across the surface during polishing.
Inspect and Measure
We inspect the paint under proper lighting and measure its thickness, so we know exactly how much clear coat we have to work with and which level of correction is safe for your car.
Correct the Paint
Using the right compound, pad and machine speed for each panel, we remove the swirls, oxidation and scratches in one or two stages depending on the level you have chosen.
Protect the Finish
A corrected finish deserves protection. We seal the paint with a ceramic spray sealant, or prepare it for a ceramic coating if that is the next step you have chosen.

Stewart's Auto Care Review
“Stewart’s does excellent work but as a client you need to be very specific about the details of your expectations of your vehicle. I had a ceramic coating applied to my 2022 Acura MDX. Unfortunately my vehicle had some imperfections which I believed would be corrected through the process but misunderstood the paint correction process. I’m glad that Ryan from Stewart’s was able to explain the discrepancy of my understanding. My car looks great & they did a wonderful job.”
“I highly recommend Stewarts Auto Care. Ryan is very professional, efficient and a great communicator. My 2006 car looks in excellent condition after a full detail (interior and exterior), and the engine bay like new. He is thorough and detail oriented, and I am delighted with the result. Ryan also did a great job of gluing my headliner that was coming away from one side. Thanks Ryan, you are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Great business, great price; I would use your services again!”
“Excellent mobile detailing, both exterior and interior. Our five-year-old SUV, which has been through a bit with three young kids, looks brand new again. I highly recommend this company and especially want to recognize Juan for his superb customer service - I know he put in some extra time to try to steam off the sunscreen stains from the vinyl door panels.”
