Restored to factory finish, not replaced
Curb rash, bent rims and faded finishes, restored at our Pennsauken shop
A single scraped rim changes how the whole car looks, and a bent one changes how it drives. Curbs, potholes and plowed winter roads are part of owning a car in South Jersey, and your wheels take the first and hardest hits. The damage shows up as scratches along the lip you notice every time you approach the car, a shudder through the steering wheel at highway speed, a tire that keeps losing air for no obvious reason, or a finish that has faded from years of brake dust and salt.
You do not have to live with it, and you do not have to pay for a new wheel. At Stewart's Auto Care, we restore wheels instead of replacing them, with repairs starting from $150 a wheel. Curb rash is sanded out and refinished to match the factory color. Bent rims are straightened, balanced and inspected so the wheel is safe before it goes back on. If you would rather change the look entirely, we refinish the full set in a new color. Every repair is completed at our Pennsauken shop and sealed under a clear coat, and most cosmetic work is finished the same day you drop it off.
Why repair
your wheels
Why owners repair their wheels instead of replacing them. Tap any row to read more.
Cheaper than replacing
A new wheel from the dealer costs several times more than a repair, before fitting and balancing. Restoring the one you have starts from $150.
The damage disappears completely
Curb rash is sanded away, the lip is reshaped and the color is matched to the factory finish. Once the wheel is back on, there is no sign of the scrape.
The wheel is safe again
A bent rim is not only a vibration you feel through the steering wheel. Left alone, it wears your tires unevenly and puts strain on the brakes, steering and suspension. Straightening and balancing it restores the wheel's structural integrity and takes that strain off everything connected to it.
A smoother drive
A bent rim shows up as a vibration through the steering wheel or the seat, usually at highway speed. Straightening it brings the car back to a smooth drive.
Your tire stops losing air
When a tire keeps dropping pressure and there is no puncture to be found, the wheel is almost always the reason. A straightened rim seals against the tire properly again.
You return the lease without a bill
Lease inspectors check the wheels first, and curb rash is one of the most common charges. Fixing it before the return costs far less than what the dealer will charge.

Common questions
What owners ask first
Still not sure about something? Call and ask. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Can curb rash be fully repaired?
In most cases, yes. Scrapes and gouges on the lip are sanded, filled where needed, reshaped and refinished. If the damage goes deep enough to weaken the wheel, we will tell you rather than cover it up.
What colors can I pick for a color change?
Gloss black, matte black and bronze are the most requested, but we can match most automotive colors. Send us a photo of what you have in mind and we will tell you if it works on your wheels.
Is it safe to repair a bent wheel?
Most bends on the inner or outer lip can be straightened safely. A cracked or structurally weakened wheel is a different matter, and in those cases we recommend replacement rather than risk it. We inspect every wheel before quoting and tell you honestly whether a safe repair is possible.
Will the color match the other wheels?
Yes. We match the paint to the original factory finish, which means a repaired wheel is indistinguishable from the rest once it is back on the car. For a change of color, we refinish all four together so the set stays consistent.
How long does a wheel repair take?
Most cosmetic curb rash repairs are finished the same day. Bent rims and full color changes take longer, and we will give you a time when we quote.
